Sometimes you have to just buckle down and spend money on the things you need. A little over a year ago, we bought a down duvet for our bed, and as disgusting as I am, have not bothered to buy a duvet cover until now. While I was at it, I bought four Egyptian cotton pillows and a set of silky white bed sheets. Goodbye, Christmas money, hello grown-up bed. And can I just say that NOTHING (and I mean nothing) feels, nor smells as good as brand new sheets.
This was our third Christmas together, and our system for gift buying is to set a reasonable budget and then set it aside and let the other buy whatever they want with it. I waited until after Christmas to take advantage of the killer deals that happen after everyone is broke and stores are trying to squeeze the last bit of cash from people who are still in shopping mode. Yes, we're basically buying gifts for ourselves, except I broke the rules and bought Trent these amazing Out Of Print clothes because I couldn't NOT get them for him.

The kicker is that he had JUST finished reading 1984 and couldn't quit raving about it.
I really can't say enough good things about the quality and the overall look of the clothes. What really sold me was this little statement from their website:
In addition to spreading the joy of reading through our tees, we acknowledge that many parts of the world don't have access to books at all. We are working to change that. For each shirt we sell, one book is donated to a community in need through our partner Books For Africa.
Attached to each piece was a library card-mimicking tag. I wish I'd taken a photo. It was worth every penny.

Also, I totally bought that Louise Bourgeois poster above. What can I say? I'm still in Holiday shopping mode.
