A day for relaxing with this little sweetheart. The short story I'm reading currently in my thrifted "Best American Short Stories 1987" book is called The Afterlife, by John Updike, and I'm really loving it.

Black Swan earlier today, dinner at my mom's house shortly, and hopefully a long night of doing absolutely nothing until tomorrow. I love holidays.

  2. Ella- I loved it. This was my second time seeing it, and I'm very glad my first time was in the theater so I could feel it completely.
It was very intense and dark, but that is very much Aronofsky's style. I'm convinced that no one but Natalie Portman could have played the part so well (though she was so skinny, I was sort of horrified). Mila Kunis was a great choice as well for that bohemian, sexy character she plays.
Overall, I'd definitely watch it again. The end performance alone is worth it, I think.
