On Film

Untitled

You know when you're so excited about something, it turns to stomach-knot anxiety? That's totally what happened to me yesterday night when I went to go get these Yunon photos developed. I've had the worst luck with developing film, and I was prepared for the worst, so when I saw these photos, I was giddy to the point of not sleeping afterwards. Can I also say how amazing it is to not have to edit anything in photoshop? That's the beauty of film. All those weird colors and light bleeds.

Last Saturday, I resolved to go on a solo bike ride while Trent was away recording an episode for his weekly podcast. I loaded my backpack with my two cameras, a bottle of water, my wallet, and then (literally) rode off into the sunset. Navigating the neighborhoods in the city on my bike is one of my favorite things in the world. It's exploring at its purist. You see things on a bike you just don't in a car. It's a simple fact.

By sheer coincidence, I was out riding at the same time the ride for the Bike Prom was taking place, and a kind stranger invited me along for the ride. It was beyond exhilarating to ride in such an enormous group, and I met a few really nice people. Some of those girls were wearing heels! Also, I'm 100% resolved now to start putting some love into my rusty Schwinn frame.
