All that glitters

T

Golden treasures found amidst the riffraff at the Salt Lake Flea this morning.

I'm delighted with my finds, but was very saddened by an experience I had there.

Someone stole a pair of very beautiful French gold earrings right under my nose.

I was sure they were going to cost more than the cash I had, and turned away for just a moment. After a few moments of thought, I decided to inquire about them anyway, but they were gone. I searched for 10 minutes to make sure they hadn't just been lost among the others, but they were definitely gone. I'm positive they weren't purchased, because the owner was on the other side of where we were at the time. It really saddens me that more people don't hold honesty in higher esteem.

Small and slender, they had tiny, delicate engravings etched into the bar. They deserved to be bought.

Aside from that, I had a lovely, leisurely morning alone wandering the stalls. The next flea is a month from now, on the second Sunday of the month. Maybe I'll see you there?
